Stara Sokolova 18 Year Old Plum Brandy is a limited-edition slivovitz from the Krivaja valley near Užice in western Serbia, aged at least 18 years in sessile oak and capped at 400 numbered bottles signed by the founder. Serbian šljivovica is on UNESCO’s list of intangible cultural heritage, and this one blends three local plums: Požegača, Crvena Ranka and Trgovača. Pour it neat at about 16°C as an aperitif or after dinner, with dried fruit or a hard cheese alongside.
